After You've Been Burned
February 28, 2024
Can you keep reaching out, even after you’ve been burned? It’s great to be a person who thinks of others, serving them, reaching out and lending a helping hand. But it doesn’t mean that the other person will be grateful or even kind, in response to what you’ve done, right?
I’ve been burned and I bet you have been, too. I have given to people in the past, and never received back from them the thanks I was hoping to receive. Turns out, I had some strings attached, and it only led to great disappointment.
How do you respond when people let you down? Does it make you want to close down and never reach out again?
I believe hope keeps reaching out, regardless of what has happened to you in the past. It’s learning how to give, learning how to serve, without expectation of getting anything in return. Hope trusts that God sees what you’ve done.
Remember, choose hope today.
