Listen to today’s Minute:
(clicking will take you to this post in a web browser)
Does worry keep you from hope? Are you a person who worries a lot? I think there’s a difference between worry and concern. To me, being concerned about something allows you to think productively and figure out if there’s something you can do about it. But worry, for me, tends to just get me all tied up in knots, feeling helpless and frustrated. Worry also forgets that God is ultimately in control of my life.
Two of my favorite verses are Matthew 6:33-34 which say,
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Let me give you permission to stop worrying, even if just for today. Rest in the hope that God is with you and he’s taking care of you today. William Law, a Church of England priest in the early 1700’s put it well when he said, “Pray, and let God worry.”
Remember, choose hope today.
I’m so happy! Thanks, Susan, for letting me know!
spot on for me today! Thank You for the reminder...
