Ever Been Through A Tornado?
February 27, 2024
Growing up in the Midwest, we’re used to heading down to the basement whenever there was a tornado warning. I never once worried about what might be happening up above.
Now that I’m older, I find it easier to be cognizant of the potential destruction. Even though you know there’s nothing you can do about it, you take shelter and wait for it to pass.
You might be hunkered down in your metaphorical basement right now, waiting for a big storm to pass. Hope doesn’t say that nothing’s going to happen to your house, or to your life, or to people that you love. Hope isn’t ignorant of the horrible effects of life’s most difficult circumstances.
But hope believes that God is hunkered down with you, holding you close, and reminding you of his love. And when the sun returns, and you climb out, he’ll be there then too, helping you clear out all the rubble.
Remember, choose hope today.
