Jeremiah 29:11 is popular because it reminds us that God has good plans for us, and a future in which we prosper and are filled with hope.
I’m curious what the word prosper means?
Some will say that it implies we will be financially better off than we are currently. Some say that our circumstances will go significantly better than they are now. But I love one definition that says to prosper means to bloom, or blossom—that on those branches that currently appear to be dead or dying, God is about to bring something new to life.
This is a hope that says, no matter how things currently look, I trust the bloom is coming.
And fortunately for us, we’ve lived through enough changes of seasons that we know that even after the coldest, deadest winter, the trees and flowers somehow still bloom. God is breathing life and hope into your branches right now. I can’t wait to see what blossoms.
Remember, choose hope today.
